This is one of my favourite advertising ideas. Simple, smart, direct, doesn't rely on flashy execution. And it worked.
Tasked with the problem of helping a seriously faltering MTV in it's early days, Sell! Sell! #1 Hero George Lois creates a ballsy campaign where musicians call on young peoples to call their local cable company and demand that they carry MTV.
And they did.
The rest, as they say, is 'istry.
